We want to weigh in on Irish Mike's with an opinion we haven't seen discussed. Dover Police Department and the bar could work together to enforce no-loitering on the sidewalks outside of the bar during problem hours (midnight-2am). Often times the bar has a bouncer sitting outside the bar carding people as they go in - this person could tell anyone lingering they need to move along, and call the police if they don't listen. Police should respond and ticket. The specific area marked by red arrows is basically an unofficial nightly block party. While we have a "no loitering" sign of our own posted in our window for after we close, nobody follows it and we clean up trash left outside daily / our camera system has assisted with crime solving but this area needs help with crime *prevention*. Those who live in the apartments above and between Puffster and Irish Mike's deserve to have the law followed - which includes the legal right to peaceful enjoyment of their homes after 10pm. The noise during these "block parties" can be heard loudly even with windows shut. Although it has been debated whether the safety of those OUTSIDE of Irish Mike's is the responsibility of Irish Mike's, it is unarguably the responsibility of the police. There used to be cadets regularly patrolling downtown - how about adding them back for at least ONE HOUR in this area?

Puffster has a no-nonsense good vibes only stance in our store, so don't be afraid to come downtown and shop with us noon-8pm, there are street parking spaces available right out front. With the way some people are avoiding downtown and with the existence of smoke shops in this state being threatened by DE officials targeting h**p products, we could sincerely use your business!
