In honor of Veterans Day, please enjoy this "It Came from the Archives" post written by our director in 2021.

It Came from the Archives: Armistice Day, Veterans Day and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier - Troy Today On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, the guns that had roar ed in the most destructive war to that point in history fell silent. Although the June 1919 Treaty of Versailles officially closed World War 1 (the US never signed it), the Armistice ended combat.
