This weekend is one of the most important of the year for me. As a two-time combat veteran, I’ve lost many brothers-in-arms — men and women who chose service above self. They didn’t serve because of politics or personal opinions. They served because they took an oath to protect against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

They believed in what they were doing, but most importantly, they believed in the people standing to their left and right.

I hope everyone, regardless of background or beliefs, understands that Memorial Day is simply about honoring those who gave everything because they answered the call.

All Residential and Commercial Garbage Collection Routes will be running on their normal scheduled pickup day next week.
