Enterprise State Burglary Suspect Arrested
ENTERPRISE — According to Enterprise State Community College, an arrest has been made in connection with the burglary of athletic facilities on campus.
College officials said 30-year-old Branden J. Emerson was arrested Tuesday, July 7, by Enterprise State Community College Campus Police. He is accused of stealing various items valued at approximately $700 from the college's athletic facilities.
According to the college, Campus Police issued a timely warning on Monday, July 6, seeking the public's assistance after the burglary was reported. Investigators said the incident occurred during the early afternoon of Friday, July 3, when an unknown white male allegedly entered multiple athletic facilities and collected items in a duffel-type bag. The incident was reported to Campus Police on July 5.
Campus Police released a description of the suspect and the vehicle believed to have been involved, leading to information from the public that helped identify the suspect.
Enterprise State Community College Campus Police Chief Jeffery Spence thanked the community and law enforcement agencies that assisted with the investigation.
"Thank you to Fort Rucker's Criminal Investigation Division and the Law Enforcement Division of the Directorate of Public Safety for their assistance in this case," Spence said. "We would also like to thank our community for their help in providing information in relation to this incident."

Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Parts of the Wiregrass
DOTHAN, Ala. — The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for portions of Houston County and east-central Geneva County until 3:15 p.m. CDT.
At 2:14 p.m. CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Webb to near Taylor, moving east at 10 mph.
The storms are capable of producing wind gusts up to 60 mph. According to the National Weather Service, the primary threat is damage to roofs, siding and trees.

Residents in the warned area should seek shelter indoors and remain away from windows until the storm passes. Secure loose outdoor objects and be prepared for possible downed trees and power outages.
