The Panama Canal will continue to experience declining water levels and lead to additional delays in the passage of vessels through the supply chain artery. However, the forecast for the next few weeks may rewrite this story and alleviate its challenges.

If the rain doesn't come, there will likely be an extended delay in the travel of goods or potential changes in how materials arrive on the east and west coast in the US. In turn, more companies may turn to intermodal transit to enable cross-country shipments of goods that were originally destined for the Port of Long Beach have to berth at the Port of Galveston in Texas.
