At Cane Creek Labradors, we are proud to offer our Guardian Home Program, which allows select families the opportunity to welcome one of our breeding females into their home as a beloved family companion. This program helps us place our breeding prospects, semi-active females, and retired veterans into loving homes where they can truly thrive as part of a family—while allowing us to continue our commitment to responsible and ethical breeding.

Guardian families care for their dog in their own home as a cherished pet and are responsible for routine, day-to-day expenses such as food and regular veterinary care. Families also agree to monitor their dog for signs of heat and return her to us when it is time for breeding or whelping.

As breeders, we retain breeding rights and cover all expenses related to breeding, whelping, and full health testing. All breeding and puppy rearing take place in our home under our supervision. These dogs come from outstanding pedigrees with proven, long-standing health records—making this an excellent opportunity for families who love the breed and value exceptional health standards.

Guardian families should be prepared for their dog to be away for approximately one to two weeks during breeding and up to six weeks for whelping and puppy rearing. Once the female is retired from the program and spayed, full ownership is transferred to the guardian family.

We truly cherish these incredible dogs and are honored to share their lives with families who will love them just as deeply as we do for their entire lifetime. Because of the trust involved, all guardian homes must complete a contract and home check, and families must be located within a two-hour drive of our home.
