The Wayne County Commission presented a resolution honoring Commissioner David Knezek (District 8) today with his resignation after more than six years of dedicated service on the Wayne County Commission. His leadership on behalf of all constituents, especially seniors and veterans, and his strong efforts to secure significant investments for western Wayne County have been instrumental in helping not only his district, but all of the County. Please join us in wishing the Honorable David Knezek well on his next chapter as Henry Ford College Board of Trustees’ appointment as the seventh president of Henry Ford College in Dearborn, Michigan.

The Commission has received several Letters of Interest from qualified candidates interested in serving the remainder of his term. The Wayne County Commission will vote to determine the official District 8 Commissioner replacement per the Wayne County Charter at the full board meeting on August 6, 2026.
