🩷 This month, Michigan Women Forward celebrates 40 years of opening doors.

In June 1986, a group of visionary women came together with a bold belief: women deserved greater opportunity, a stronger voice, and a seat at the table. At a time when only a small fraction of philanthropic dollars supported programs for women and girls, they founded the Michigan Women's Foundation to help create change and expand opportunity across our state.

Forty years later, that mission continues.

Today, Michigan Women Forward celebrates women leaders, honors trailblazers, invests in entrepreneurs, and provides access to capital for small business owners who may not qualify for traditional financing.

Over the next year, we'll be celebrating 40 years of impact by highlighting the people, businesses, leaders, founders, supporters, and partners who have shaped Michigan Women Forward's story—and the opportunities we're working to create for the future.

Because while we've come a long way, there are still more doors to open.

Here's to 40 years of opening doors. And to the next 40.
