The City of Detroit has opened warming centers and resting locations across the city to provide essential relief from the cold.

Warming Centers:
Cass Community Social Services - Serves families and women

Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries - Serves families and women

Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries - Serves single males

Resting Locations:
Available at Detroit recreation centers and public libraries during regular hours

The COVID19 Emergency Rental Assistance (CERA) program is designed to keep Detroit residents who fell behind on their rent during COVID-19 in their homes. Financial assistance is available for renters with their past due rent and utilities. Free legal representation may also be available for renters with court cases.

Rent Assistance
Up to 12 months of back rent assistance, with 3 months of forward rent for lowest income tenants.

Utility Assistance
Includes water, sewer, heat and electricity. Assistance is based on household size, but the maximum amount is $2,500. Internet stipend is also available for those who present a bill.
