This weekend, Wayne County Sheriff’s Office deputies proudly joined the Motor City Pride Parade, celebrating community, inclusion, and the strength that comes from bringing people together. We are honored to serve and support all residents of Wayne County while building connections that make our communities safer and stronger. Thank you to everyone who came out and made the day so special.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Community Team is committed to staying connected with the people we serve. Through outreach, education, and engagement, we’re working to provide residents with the tools and information they need to remain safe, informed, and involved in their communities. Together, we continue building stronger relationships across Wayne County — because public safety starts with community.

Sheriff Washington and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office were proud to join DWIHN and so many community members, providers, advocates, and partners for last weekend Mental Health Awareness Walk.

Events like this are an important reminder that mental health matters and that support, connection, and community can make a real difference. It was powerful to see so many people come together to help break the stigma and uplift one another.

The Detroit Grand Prix is back in downtown Detroit.

If you’re attending this weekend, plan ahead, expect road closures through June 4, and follow all posted traffic signs and detour routes. Allow extra travel time and stay alert while traveling in the area.

Deputies from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office will be out throughout the event, working alongside our public safety partners to help keep everyone safe.
