As the first berries of summer ripen, we welcome the Strawberry Moon and the return of ode’imin—the “heart berry.” In Anishinaabe teachings, strawberries remind us of love, connection, and the importance of caring for our hearts in every sense: physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

This season invites us to gather with loved ones and reconnect with relationships that sustain us. Just as strawberries are often the first berries to appear after winter, they remind us that renewal, healing, and joy can return after difficult seasons.

May this moon bring opportunities to nurture community, practice kindness to ourselves and others, and walk forward with good hearts. 🍓
