Ojibwe Forests Rally

Headwaters showed what happens when great volunteers come together.
Now we’re building the team for the big one.

The 2026 Ojibwe Forests Rally is coming to Detroit Lakes and Bemidji on August 28–29, and we need rally volunteers to help make it happen.

No experience is required. We’ll train you, place you with experienced people, and give you one of the best seats in the house. Volunteers help with stage controls, spectator areas, communications, service, logistics, and event operations.

The first pitch at Rally Racing Night at the Redhawks game on 7/10 will be thrown by our very own Mindy Donovan.

Mindy has spent more than two decades charging through the dust, noise and beautiful disorder of the rally world. Since 2000, she has crewed, volunteered and helped hold together a family operation fueled by speed, stubbornness and questionable amounts of sleep. Her husband and brother-in-law race, the family works the events, and somewhere in the middle of all that chaos, Mindy creates the stained-glass trophies presented at the Ojibwe Forests Rally—because apparently ordinary trophies were never going to be enough.

In November 2025, Mindy became a below-the-knee amputee. Rather than slow down, she became a para-athlete and set her sights on competing in shot put and discus at the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.

So keep your eyes open, Fargo. This is not just a ceremonial first pitch. It is a warning shot.
