One Okaloosa EDC officially launched an online Housing Dashboard today, which may be found at https://www.oneokaloosa.org/housing-assets. According to One Okaloosa EDC, it was developed as a resource for local citizens, prospective residents, public officials involved in approving future housing and infrastructure investments and school officials making future facilities decisions, the dashboard captures single-family and multi-family developments that are planned, permitted or currently under construction.

The interactive dashboard was populated with information provided by County and municipal planning offices. At present, the portal includes 48 developments representing more than 5,200 individual lots or units. The featured developments are located in Crestview, Destin, Fort Walton Beach, Niceville and unincorporated Okaloosa County. One Okaloosa is committed to updating the dashboard periodically.

LIZA JACKSON PARK: The west side of Liza Jackson Park, including its boat launch, is expected to close Aug. 3 to make way for a $3.1 million renovation project.

The work will include a new 832-square-foot restroom building, new parking for vehicles and boat trailers, a redesigned boat launch area, new sidewalks and stormwater improvements. The project is expected to take approximately six months to complete.

The city awarded the bid to H&T Contractors LLC of Freeport.

Funding for the project will come from the Fort Walton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency, the Infrastructure Surtax fund and a $1 million contribution from Okaloosa County through its Tourist Development Tax fund.
