Sometimes it feels like joy is out of reach, illusive.
But events like this are a reminder that joy is all around us.
In the smiles of strangers.
In the hugs from dear friends.
Joy is in the stories of love, hope, acceptance and perseverance shared during Storytime.
Joy is what filled our plates and bellies with FREE food donated by local restaurants or bought by event supporters.
Joy is in painted faces, and bubbles, and sidewalk chalk, and friendship bracelets, and stickers.
Joy is in the music and dancing of dedicated, talented drag performers.
💗Joy is flowing through each and every one of us. We just might occasionally need a little help digging it out. Uncovering the joy that can sometimes get buried under fear, sadness, guilt, anxiety, or embarrassment.
So happy that I could share a little bit of joy with the community at our DP Pride Celebration.
