July is Disability Pride Month.

The Americans with Disabilities Act was signed into law on July 26, 1990, and later amended in 2009 with the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA) on January 1, 2009. This Act has been vital for changing the landscape for those with disabilities and made it so that disability rights were civil rights.

Taste of Des Plaines is just two days away! This year's festival features 10 local food vendors serving a wide variety of flavors and favorites, including Charcoal Delights, Giuseppe’s Pizza, HD Cuisine, Karavan, Kona Ice, Mexico Restaurant, Midwest Smoke BBQ, Que Bola Cuban Cafe, Serna’s Grill and Tiki Terrace (Hawaiian Food Truck).
