Folks have been discussing the meaning of life for generations. I think it might have a lot to do with following a good dog through the field!

All hunting dogs put a big smile on my face, but there is something raw, primal and beautiful about the voice of a hound echoing out of a holler on a crisp morning that both sends shivers down your spine and fills your heart with joy and expectation. heart of a dog never ceases to amaze me. This dog has every definition of the word “heart”. In the field, he is unstoppable, unfaltering, and steadfast in his search, his point, and his retrieve. He also fought hard as a young puppy to survive the deadly parvovirus, and won! Today he showed me his other side, as I am laid up with Covid again, he came and rested his head in my lap and just sat with me for a long while, just happy to share space and get a few gentle strokes on the head. It’s dogs like this who make life with dogs as special as it is.
