Today we're celebrating Tiffany for two years of dedicated service!

We are so grateful for her heart to support and uplift women and moms with kids as they navigate challenging life circumstances.

Recently, an employee was at church and began talking to a mom who is currently staying at our Hope Ministries Center for Women and Children. During the conversation the mom pointed to the Hope Ministries logo on the staff's shirt and asked her four-year-old daughter if she knew what she was looking at.

The girl’s eyes lit up and with her voice full of excitement she exclaimed, “community! That’s where I live!”

What a touching reminder that the support of our community provides essential needs and a safe place where hurting individuals and families can heal and discover hope through belonging.

A survey of more than 1,000 men in our long-term life recovery program indicated that, on average, one man has experienced four adverse childhood experiences. Throughout our study, we learned that these potentially traumatic events have effects long into adulthood as many of the men also indicated struggles with substance use and mental health.

In other words, trauma then contributes to trauma now.

Through our trauma-informed approach, we can help individuals heal from the hurts of yesterday while they continue to take steps toward a brighter tomorrow.
