It was an exciting day at one of our projects. US Secretary of Agriculture, Tom Vilsack, visited the Valley Junction project to make an announcement regarding mass timber construction and the US Forest Service's commitment to supporting mass timber construction across the country and specifically Iowa. We can't thank Scott Cutler enough for asking us to be a part of the project.

The project in Valley Junction is a three story, mixed use building using hybrid mass timber construction techniques. The first floor commercial space features mass timber columns, beams, and the floor decking above. Upper floors are a mix of commercial office space and efficient one bedroom apartments. The mass timber is highlighted on these floors through exposed columns, beams, and floor/roof deck as well.
