When you meet Bryce, now age 6, he’ll likely ask you which car brand you drive or what toothpaste you use.

What you might not realize is just how far he’s come.

Born at 26 weeks with cerebral palsy and hydrocephalus, Bryce once couldn’t walk or speak. Today, thanks to the team at MercyOne, he’s a “chatterbox,” as his mother says, going from non-speaking to full conversations in just 11 months.

After surgery and intensive physical and occupational therapy, Bryce recently took his first independent steps — a moment his family calls extraordinary.

From learning to communicate to walking, writing and gaining independence, Bryce’s journey is filled with big milestones made possible by hard work, dedicated therapists and a whole lot of heart. “His growth has been just amazing,” his mom shared.
