Iconic Whitetails

The Flora Campbell Buck being held by Joette Goodwin, niece to the famous antler collector Fred Goodwin. The deer was killed in 1953 near Cherryfield in Washington Co. Maine. For many years, this was the largest female hunter killed whitetail. Any guesses to what female killed buck topped it?

The rack was originally in Fred Goodwin’s collection (I believe), then Dick Idol’s, Jack Brittingham, Phil Osborne and now is in Brian Ross’s collection.

This is the Darren Jenson buck from Hoyt, KS. The deer was taken during archery season 2008 and grossed in the 240’s and nets 237”. According to the collector who originally purchased the deer from the hunter, the rack has the most know inches of drops/flyers. But, the Brewster buck may exceed those numbers. The head is extremely compact with a 12” inside spread. Unfortunately, a score sheet and a field photo aren’t obtainable at this time.
