For active-duty service members, there were 471 military su***des reported across the Total Force, showing an 11% decrease from the prior year. However, over the past decade, active-duty and veteran su***de rates have remained significantly elevated compared to the general U.S. population, with fi****ms acting as the primary method in most deaths.

Veterans face an even higher risk of su***de compared to active-duty personnel and the civilian population, with rates often 1.5 to 2 times higher than non-veteran adults.
Overall Rates: Approximately 6,398 veterans die by su***de annually.

The U.S. Fire Administration notes that law enforcement officers account for the largest share of these deaths (58%), followed by firefighters (21%), EMS providers (18%), and public safety telecommunicators (2%).

Every year we give out senior awards to students that are continuing their education. With the tireless efforts of our BOARD OF DIRECTORS and donors like you, the JRFM Senior Awards has grown from 3x $500 awards to 4x $1000 awards. We give to students pursuing a career in the mental health field, to a student pursuing a future in music/arts, and a student pursuing a future in sports. These awards will be handed out in person at Pizzastock 10❤️💙
