Sometimes you know.

A student walks in a little reserved, you spend some time warming up, getting to know each other... and then you hand them a microphone.

That's when Sam came to life.

He wasn't just singing the notes. He was telling the story, feeling every lyric, and completely immersed in the music.

The note I wrote to myself after his first lesson simply said:

"This child is a SINGER."

I can't wait to watch his confidence grow, his voice develop, and to see where his journey with music takes him.

Saturday was one of those days that reminded me just how many amazing places music can take people. 🩵

While I was backstage at Miss Greater Derry helping to run the show, Miss Tracy was earning High Scoring Vocalist and Overall Talent awards in her very first pageant.

At the same time, Aria R. was in New York City seeing Zan Berube in Heathers - watching a performer she admires and getting a glimpse of what is possible for her own future.

Sometimes I get so busy teaching lessons, answering emails, planning events, and solving whatever problem is on fire that day that I don't stop to think about it.

Then a day like Saturday comes along.

One student is in New York City being inspired. One teacher is onstage winning awards. I'm backstage helping another group of young people chase big goals.

And I get reminded how lucky I am to know all of these amazing humans.

It made me smile to think about all the places our studio family was scattered that day. 🩵✨
