The message this morning at church was about how God wants to help us overcome our overwhelm.

The message I got this morning from my coach Executive Performance Coach | Nutritionist | Fitness Expert in his Morning Mindset, was to take the time to quiet ourselves and prioritize rest.

The message I got this morning as I studied Galatians was to be led by the Spirit and not the flesh. The fruit of the Spirit will bring freedom verses the works of the flesh.

There’s a commonality for today, Sunday, God’s day, a day of rest…

There’s an art to doing “nothing” if you want to call it that. It’s intentional. It’s white space that is needed to calm our minds in the midst of so much chaos and overwhelm.

I recently heard a reframe for a day of rest and that is… I am trusting in God to do His part while I rest, knowing that I did my part the other 6 days.

We are in a world of constant overload that our brains weren’t designed to handle. God knew what He was doing when He gave us the example to take time to rest. As our Creator, He gave us the model to follow.

After church this morning, Tanner | Family Leader Coach and I took the kids to a park near our old house. We got to just swing on hammocks, I got to lay next to my sweet baby girl, while Tanner laid with David and we just quieted ourselves and rested in the sun. God is good!
