🎷 IMPROMPTU ORCHESTRA - upon spontaneously and unexpectedly being split into two teams/bands, you have 10 minutes to find instruments (real and/or make believe), to plan/practice a song of your choosing and to then perform it for the other group. With such little time, perfectionism is not the goal. Having fun with it and getting creative/collaborative is!

🎭 This was one of the many improv games we played on retreat to break the ice, soften tendencies of self-judgement, unleash our silliness, connect deeply with one another and HAVE FUN!

🧽 Our team riffed the Spongebob Squarepants C-A-M-P-F-I-R-E SONG jam and I “remixed” it on the decks!!

👨‍👨‍👦‍👦👩‍👧And from all these games, the most beautiful cumulative effect took place…by the last evening of the retreat…we honestly sounded like a practiced improv troupe! Guitars were riffing, characters were abound, “yes and…” was our culture and the deeeeepest belly laughter left us in fits!

It felt like a sleepover you have with your best friends where you stay up late laughing your asses off til you can’t keep your eyes open anymore… in only a few days, we’d become so comfortable with each other and with ourselves around each other that we could truly be free to let our authentic ridonkulousness together rip without bound.

For that, and for them, I am internally grateful.
