Wow! Today at sunrise for the Solstice our group did a powerful ceremony on Kilauea— the active volcano on Hawaii. We felt huge energy portals — or dragon lines open up from the Earth through our feet. It seemed to disassociate us from the limitations of our past, resulting in the creation of a bright luminous light body around each of us— like a new second skin of light.

Then, when we were finished, the rising sun created a rare celestial spectacle— a white rainbow!!

Hello! It’s New Moon time again, and those always herald fresh beginnings. This Gemini New Moon on June 6 is full of exciting possibilities, and its effects will last into 2025.

Some details: the Moon is currently surrounded by a dynamic “stellium” (astro-speak for a big line up of planets). Sun, Venus, and Moon are all huddled at the 16th degree with Mercury and Jupiter hanging out on the same block. What does all this planetary socializing mean? Mix the confidence of the Sun, Venus’ connective magic, Mercury’s flurry of ideas (especially in its own sign of Gemini) with Jupiter’s expansive “YES”, and you have a recipe for some of the most positive energies of the year. They could be overwhelming in that strong espresso sort of way. But bring it on! Amped-up energy can help you take the first step into that new adventure, especially if you’ve been hanging back the last six months.

Now, here's a helpful hint from Miss Social Gemini New Moon herself: this is not a time to be a lone-ranger. Gemini is all about play and discovery: creating something new with a trusted other or tribe. Think of your childhood friends. What were you doing together after school let out for the summer? Were you at the local pond catching tadpoles? Building dirt bike ramps in an empty lot? That’s the energy here: bold, free, and ready to go on that group adventure, even if it’s a group of two.

So, if you’re just starting to date, in a new relationship, or re-creating an established one, this new Gemini moon will nudge you into greater openness, adaptability (perhaps doing things you normally wouldn’t choose), vulnerability, and better listening skills. The best relationships are always co-created. Or, if you have an idea at work or for your business, now’s the time to reach out to colleagues you respect and get their take on your budding brain-child. You could end up with a whole new spin and strategy.

With all this launch energy of the Gemini New Moon and friends, you could feel contrary dynamic pulling you earthward. Our old friend Saturn, the wise elder/authoritarian, is in retrograde traversing the mid-degrees of Pisces. As he’s slowing down, he’s squaring this New Moon and her entire cotillion. Yes, here’s the tough reality check and it could last a while, since Saturn will be in back-peddle mode until November 15. Maybe your new dating partner is dealing with family issues and can’t commit to much time with you. Or your long-time partner isn’t quite ready for a relationship make-over. Maybe those four-feet-high dirt bike jumps aren’t the best idea. Or the pond water has some nasty microbes.

Yeah, that’s a bummer. But what can you “play” with in the meantime? What lower octane alternatives do you have? Gemini likes lots of options! Just keep the long game in mind as you move forward. Saturn’s retrograde isn’t here to obliterate the confidence, connections, creativity, and courage you’ve gained over the last few months. In evolutionary style, Saturn may be diluting your some of your rocket fuel to slow you down, helping you go forward with more self-awareness and intentionality. He knows that only strong foundations stand the test of time.
