It was so nice to see you all at Walk With a Doc Crestmoor Park last Saturday! We hope you enjoyed learning about how to better care for our bones! Special thanks to Dr. Maleki and Nurse Practicioner Rachel!

It’s recommended by the American Heart Association, to get at least:

❤️150 minutes per week of moderate-intensity aerobic activity (30 minutes a day/5 days a week)
❤️75 minutes per week of vigorous aerobic activity (15 minutes a day/5 days a week)
❤️Or a combination of both, preferably spread throughout the week

😅Moderate intensity exercise would require you to breathe harder than normal. You can still have a conversation with a friend if you were walking together.

🥵Vigorous intensity would require you to push a little harder. You might break a sweat, and you won’t be able to talk much without stopping to catch your breath.

If you’re just starting out, walking is a great way to become more active. Ways to get more steps in throughout your day:

✅Park farther away from the door at the grocery store
✅Take the stairs instead of the elevator, even going down counts!
✅Include your family, take walks after dinner
✅Instead of sending an email, walk to your coworkers desk
✅Schedule walks throughout your workday to step out and get fresh air
