“Prominence” - One goal I had during the solar eclipse was to capture more features of the sun than I had in the past. I shot mostly at a wider angle, hoping to catch more of the corona. I was surprised to see so many prominences appear! They were so large and bright that you could even see them with the naked eye.
Shown here are some of the largest prominences I was able to see. The ones that appear at 3 and 6 o’clock were pretty consistent the entire eclipse. The large ones I was able to capture at 9 and 1 were really spectacular to see.
Total Solar Eclipse from Ola, Arkansas.
Ola sits about 45 miles north of Hot Springs, and was one of the towns closest to the centerline of totality. We were able to witness four minutes and sixteen seconds of totality!
This time lapse is straight off the scope. No edits!

I woke up at 3:30 am to find the sky covered with clouds. Undeterred, I set up my camera and telescope anyway. Luckily, the clouds broke just after the peak of the eclipse and I was able to get a few good pictures!

Please help to support the recovery of Hanging Lake and the White River National Forest!
Another shot from my visit to Hanging Lake. The mix of moss, rock, water and ice was visually stunning to witness.
