Today feels like Christmas.... To explain why, I have to back it up to when I was about 10 years old...

That's when I fell in love with Billy idol! I used to peruse every "Bop" and "Tiger Beat" magazine in the hopes I'd find a Billy Idol picture to rip out to adorn my bedroom wall! I listened to his music on repeat constantly, and knew every word by heart and even tried to perfect his trademark sneer!

I specifically remember going to the record store with my stepfather at the time, and buying the large poster of the picture that you see above and that was front and center in the middle of my wall as a pr***en!

I not only loved his music, and his vibe, but I was enamored with his beautiful face! How could something be so rock and rough yet so pretty? It explains so much today! LOL

I even got to see him in concert, in 1985, in New York, on his 'Rebel Yell' tour!! And then when I met my childhood friend Julie when I was 13 (we're still friends to this day), we shared a mutual love of Billy Idol!....A memory that we still reflect on? I used to mimic something he said in an interview, in his groveling British accent that would crack her up: "My name is Idol because, that's the name I've given myself"

Fast forward to 2025, and today is the day that I not only get to meet Billy Idol in person, but I have the rare opportunity to sit down and interview him for MIX 100

To say that I'm honored, ecstatic, overjoyed, giddy, radiant, excited, thrilled and speechless, would be an understatement. I'm going to try my best to not get teary-eyed, but I can't make any guarantees!

I do need to work on the speechless part though because I actually have to talk to him!
