We are excited to share a major win for Colorado’s numismatic community—Section 17 has been successfully removed from the bill, resulting in the preservation of the Colorado sales tax exemption on coins and bullion! This outcome is the direct result of a strong, unified effort from dealers, collectors, and supporters like you from across the state who stepped up. Your engagement, outreach, and willingness to stand up for our industry made a meaningful difference, and we are truly grateful. Many of you contacted legislators, submitted testimony, attended the hearing, and helped spread the word—your voices were heard.
This exemption exists today because members of this community organized and fought for it decades ago. Thanks to your efforts, we strive to continue that legacy forward and protect an important part of Colorado’s economic and historical identity.
While we take a moment to celebrate this success, we also recognize that our work doesn’t stop here. This experience has shown just how important it is to stay organized, informed, and engaged. If you are interested in continuing to stay engaged into the future, we urge you to consider joining the Colorado Professional Numismatic Association, who were the ones to lead this effort against Section 17 of this bill: https://keepbulliontaxfree.com/resources/CPNAFlier.png
For now, thank you for standing together, for taking action, and for helping protect something that matters not just today, but for future generations of collectors, dealers, and investors across Colorado.
Respectfully,
