Ever looked at your auto policy, seen "100/300/100," and had no idea what it meant? You're not alone. Let's break it down. π
Those three numbers are your liability limits β the maximum your policy will pay if you cause an accident:
π΄ $100,000 β bodily injury, per person you injure
π $300,000 β bodily injury, total per accident (no matter how many people)
π’ $100,000 β property damage, per accident
Here's why it matters: if you cause a serious accident and the costs go higher than your limits, the difference can come out of your own pocket. That's real money β medical bills and vehicle damage add up fast.
The good news? You have control over those numbers. Higher limits usually cost less than people expect, and they're the foundation everything else (like an umbrella policy) builds on.
Not sure what your limits are β or whether they're high enough? We're happy to take a look with you.

General Liability or a Commercial Package Policy β do you actually know which one your business is carrying?
They get lumped together all the time, but they cover very different things:
πΉ General Liability (GL) β the "someone-got-hurt" coverage. A customer slips in your shop. Your work accidentally damages a client's property. GL steps in for the third-party claim, the legal defense, and the damages.
πΉ Commercial Package Policy (CPP) β a customizable package built around GL. It bundles that liability protection with other coverages you can tailor to your business, like your equipment, your inventory, and the income you lose if a covered event forces you to close. Because it's built to fit your operation, no two look exactly alike β which is why the details matter.
The simple way to think about it: GL protects you from claims other people bring against you. A CPP does that too, but it can also be shaped to protect the property you rely on and the income your business generates.
Most small businesses are better served by a package like a CPP β but the right mix depends on your specific setup. Not sure what you've got? Let's take five minutes and look at it together.

Pop quiz for Insurance-Educated Monday: two neighbors get the exact same hail damage to their roofs. One gets a check for ~$6,000. The other gets ~$18,000. Same storm. What gives?
It comes down to two little acronyms hiding in your homeowners policy: ACV and RCV.
πΉ Actual Cash Value (ACV): pays what your roof is worth TODAY β meaning your original cost minus years of wear and tear (depreciation). Your 12-year-old roof has "aged down" in value, so the check is smallerβ¦ and you cover the rest out of pocket.
πΉ Replacement Cost Value (RCV): pays to put a BRAND-NEW roof on at today's prices, minus just your deductible. Same damage, but you're made whole.
Most folks have no idea which one they're carrying until they're standing in the driveway with a contractor's estimate and a much smaller check than they expected. That's a rough day to find out.
The good news? It's a quick thing to check, and we're happy to look for you β no pressure, no sales pitch.
π Not sure which one you have? Call us at 303-838-0554 and we'll tell you in plain English.
(Numbers above are illustrative β your actual coverage depends on your policy.)
