Its been at the thrift store for months. What is it? Cake pan?

What is this little pebble thing in my new Smithey?
Just bought a new 12 inch Smithey and when I brought it home and unboxed it I noticed this weird little pebble in one of the holes. It will NOT come out, its lodged tight. Has anyone else seen this before? Should I return it or just keep? I don't really care about it being there, but wondering if there are any potential cleaning issues or anything I might not be thinking of.
