Summer is approaching quickly. If you want to avoid the summer slump, use this free resource: www.newsela.com. I have been using it for years as an educator. You can print articles with quizzes. You can change the reading level of the article to match your child's level. There are also more comprehensive lessons that include videos, articles and assigned projects.

A great way to teach fractions is to follow a recipe and make a delicious and healthy treat! Last week at one of my math sessions, my student and I made no bake peanut butter protein balls. First we split the recipe in half, then we each made some for ourselves. I found the recipe at, https://www.texanerin.com/peanut-butter-protein-balls/. Thanks Erin for providing this fab recipe online! My student absolutely loved doing this and got to take home a treat to share with his family! I think we are going to start doing a new recipe once a month. Teaching math using real-life lessons is the best way to help students retain information and make connections!
