There are times in life when inaction is the action God calls us to. During those times, our work is to stop working, to surrender, to allow our Higher Power to fight our battles. The question we all have to face is, can I hold the pose of surrender long enough to receive the gift God has for me?

After Corey’s message, Samantha Brown will join us as our Guest Storyteller. She’s been in recovery since May 22, 2019, and has fully exited commercial sexual exploitation since April 10, 2021. Samantha successfully completed an eight-year sentence with TDOC and has been off parole since December 2024. She will graduate from the University of Memphis in December with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. In September 2025, Samantha was reunited with her son and regained full custody after nine years of separation.

Sometimes the most meaningful thing we can do is pause long enough to remember where we’ve been.

Gratitude for what has been. Wonder for what is still becoming.

“Relationship Status: It’s Complicated”

Maybe you’ve got questions you can’t answer, wounds you can’t explain, or a past you can’t outrun. Maybe you’re not exactly sure where you stand with all the God stuff. And what if that’s all okay? If you’re relationship with God is a bit complicated…you’re not alone. Sometimes the greatest “God Shot” is hearing three simple words: “Go in peace.”

Tami Canaday, co-founder of FREE & owner of Wagon Coffee Roasters, will join us as our Guest Storyteller. Tami will share how a season of closed doors, unexpected pivots, and what she calls “the power of threes” eventually revealed a thread that had been weaving all along, and how all of these were “go in peace” moments when God & life felt really complicated.
