I’ve been thinking about making a post like this for some time. Finding the right words to discuss something that affects so many of us hasn’t been easy.

First, I want to acknowledge that mental health matters for everyone. Every person’s well-being is important. I can only speak from my own experience as a man, and with June being Men’s Mental Health Month, I felt compelled to share a few thoughts.

Life is a gift, and if you’re carrying burdens that you haven’t spoken about, I want you to know that your life has value and your presence matters. You are not alone.

Many of us move through life carrying struggles that remain unseen. We often feel the responsibility to provide, lead, protect, and support those around us—as fathers, husbands, brothers, friends, and role models. While these roles are meaningful, they can also be heavy.

Too often, we keep our challenges to ourselves because we don’t want to burden others or appear weak. We convince ourselves that we should carry everything alone. The truth is that strength is not found in silence. Strength is found in having the courage to reach out when we need support.

None of us are meant to carry life’s burdens alone. We all have people in our lives who care, who will listen, and who would rather help us through a difficult season than lose us entirely.

Take care of yourselves, and take care of one another.
