Our residential design company, Design Your Basement (DYB) is seeking a highly organized individual for a full-time Design Technician position. Our company designs basements, remodels, kitchens, as well as new construction homes across the nation, providing permit-ready blueprints and 3D renders for our clients. We build a select few projects and work closely with other builders to bring our designs to life. From start to finish, our company focuses on details and precision in order to create high-quality, custom builds.
This position offers experience in both design and building. We use Chief Architect X12 (Chief) software to design our plans. We require that you are very familiar and experienced with Chief Architects.
As a Design Technician at DYB, you will take measurements, prepare as-built plans, detail designs (e.g. ceiling layouts, electrical, cross-sections, materials, furniture layout, 3D renders, etc.) along with creating final layouts. Other duties will include, but are not limited to, visiting job sites, office admin, sending progress updates, and general file organization.
We welcome candidates who are fresh out of school who are looking to enter the design-build in work as a full-time designer, working with clients, designing via Zoom, and creating space. In addition to the computer-based design opportunity, there will be options to work in the field as much or as little as desired.
Location
To begin, work will be from our home office in Longmont. We will be all over the Denver Metro area. After sufficient training, working from home will be possible.
Job Expectations
• Self-sufficient learning via videos and tutorials
• Learn the DYB detailing process to detail plans (ceilings, electrical, dimensions, materials, etc.)
• Translate a client’s selections and details onto the plan
• Layout plans in a neat and efficient manner
• Drafting for final plans – Subcontractor layers, renders, final blueprint, etc. Understand what is required on a set of plans for a builder to reproduce the project in the field.
• Manage multiple jobs/customers at the same time

We welcome candidates who are fresh out of school who are looking to enter the design-build industry. Hourly wage will reflect initial experience. Candidates interested in a long-term position may eventually work as a full-time designer, working with clients, designing via Zoom, and creating space layouts. Benefits and partial ownership may eventually be offered. In addition to the computer-based design opportunity, there will be options to work in the field as much or as little as desired.

Our residential design company, Design Your Basement (DYB) is seeking a highly organized individual for a full-time Executive and Personal Assistant role. This role will work directly with the co-founder of the company to complete general admin tasks with meticulous attention to detail, manage scheduling/calendar, make personal and business calls and on occasion play with co-founders 3-year-old daughter. The ideal candidate is someone who is adaptable and self-sufficient. Must be comfortable with a high level of responsibility and self-directing. Computer proficiency is an absolute requirement.
Location:
Currently, Berthoud. Eventually, somewhere between Longmont and Broomfield.
Job Expectations:
• Executive Assistant
• Remote and in-office admin work (desk available with monitor when working at office)
• Schedule meetings and client/vendor phone calls
• Answer general business emails
• Managing, coordinating and completing company to-do lists
• Assist with delegation of tasks to other team members
• Time clock management
• Making personal calls (insurance, subscriptions, etc.)
• Scheduling personal appointments (doctors, DMV, etc.)
Hours:
• 40 hours/week, Mon-Fri roughly 11am – 7pm (hours subject to change pending weekly schedule)
