Weglarz K9 Training
Work your dog in a way that fulfills them, and makes sense for ✨you✨
The caveat being of course that some dogs are better suited for some lifestyles then others, but the majority of the time you can easily fit your dog’s training and fulfillment into things you’re already doing!
This is why it’s important to think about what you want out of a dog before choosing one, and picking one that will fit into the lifestyle you want.
I for one love enjoying outdoor activities, dog sports, patios, and travel with my personal dogs (as well as working with them as demo dogs daily) which leads me to owning higher energy, higher drive dogs who will want to be active with me all day every day.
Trust me when I say you will enjoy your time with your dog more when you are doing things you actually like doing together! It sounds simple, but is missed more often than you’d think. Don’t get caught up in everyone else’s version of the perfect dog, and let’s help you find your own version instead!

✨Let’s talk about puppies✨
Having recently added a new puppy to our household, this is a topic that’s constantly on my mind lately.
While the internet is a wealth of knowledge, it’s hard to sort through everything out there and pick and choose the info that’s right for you and your own puppy. As with everything, dog training is never one size fits all, which leaves a lot of room for confusion.
You don’t want to be using your puppies critical learning periods to be experimenting with what works and what doesn’t, which is where we are professional trainers come into play! Some key points I’ve picked up over the last decade of raising and working with puppies professionally:
⭐️no two puppies are the same, and yes this means your current puppy and your last puppy! Treat them as individuals and they’ll thrive
⭐️socialization is important, but may not be what you think it is! A small percentage of socialization is your puppy interacting with people and dogs. A much bigger part of it is building engagement with YOU in new environments, around people and dogs, and getting used to new surfaces/sights/sounds
⭐️ don’t over do it! While dogs are much more physically capable than human babies, it’s important to remember that they ARE babies! They should be getting significantly more rest than most people would guess, and while exercise is important overdoing it can have lasting effects on their growing joints. Keep your expectations consistent and age appropriate, and be sure you’re setting them up for success by not keeping them constantly stimulated.
⭐️ remember to slow down and have fun with them! While it may seem (especially in the age of the internet) that some people are fully training their puppies by 5 months of age I can promise you that is not the case. It’s worth it to slow down and build your puppies foundations instead of rushing them into things they aren’t ready for. Puppies are extremely smart and capable of big things, but we need to teach them at their own pace in order for them to be successful as dogs!
