ABLE accounts can be a very important piece of the financial puzzle for individuals with disabilities. One of the most frequent questions I receive from families is how will their loved one with a disability save money to buy the big assets that life often requires.

More education about ABLE accounts is definitely needed, but the biggest need in making this a successful program is to raise the eligibility age. Expanding the pool of individuals who can open ABLE accounts would allow more people to benefit from this great program and ensure the program remains sustainable.
