At the height of the French Revolution, British aristocrat Sir Percy Blakeney woos and weds the beautiful French actress Marguerite St. Just. After arriving back in England, Percy learns of a friend’s ex*****on via guillotine, and becomes the heroic Scarlet Pimpernel to save others from the same fate. Even Marguerite doesn’t realize that foppish Percy and the dashing Pimpernel are one and the same.
