What’s your favorite childhood storybook? The pop-up storybook concept was developed while working closely with the team at and , and even got the nod of approval from a few patients receiving care at the hospital at the time. Many of B*H’s young patients are treated by the same care team into adulthood, so it was important for the designs to appeal to all ages. Young patients were drawn to the interactive adventures, while older patients felt a wave of nostalgia associated with the pop-up book theme. Once we received client sign-off on the design concept, we rolled up our sleeves and created to-scale, hand-built working models to illustrate the different components and dynamic layering designed for each floor of the building.
