Hi everyone! It’s Amie. Just wanted to give you an update on my cancer journey…
At the beginning of April, I completed 5 months of intense chemo. A short time later, I had a double mastectomy to remove my tumors. I am still recovering and will be for quite some time. My next step was to start radiation but just recently, I have found out that my cancer has changed. After the tumor was removed, they discovered that the HER2 receptor changed from negative to positive. HER2 is a human growth protein. This means that my cancer has a high likelihood of spreading without additional chemo. Starting today, I will be doing 6 weeks of an aggressive chemo, then 5 weeks of radiation and then another 12 weeks of chemo.
