Even as a POC myself, I have NEVER experienced an encounter in my life that has ever made me feel less-than because of the color of my skin. However, this is the norm for so many men and women in our society today. In 2020. This has gone on long enough.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I pray that the atrocity that has recently occurred can shed light on the unconscionable and reprehensible actions that occur every day around the world due to racism. If you believe that this issue is rooted solely in law enforcement, you are wrong.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It starts with how you raise your children, it continues with what you let them get away with, and it escalates because the rest of the world stays silent. Because they believe the issue has nothing to do with them.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

These riots that have resulted in recent days are the product of a society that has been mistreated by a tyrannical and oppressive law enforcement in which very little has been done to execute justice of its wrongs.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I pray for all of those who have been directly affected, all of those who are risking their freedoms and security to make a stand, and all of those who live with fear on a daily basis because of the color of their skin in moderntimes.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
