Lower The Barrier Colorado
06/09/2026
THANK YOU,
DENVER FOUNDATION
As we celebrate with community, our 2026 Community Grant award, we want to take a moment to reflect on the journey that brought us here and thank the partners who believed in us along the way.
Lower the Barrier Colorado officially became a nonprofit in 2024, but our work began in 2019. From workforce programs inside correctional facilities, to building a social enterprise that produced products sold through Hyatt and local restaurants, to operating workforce development programs at the LOVE Center, our mission has always been the same:
create opportunities and lower barriers for people seeking a better future.
We are especially grateful to LaDawn Sullivan and EDCI for helping us get started, BRIC for investing in our vision, and The Denver Foundation for its continued support over the past two years.
Together, these investments have helped transform a vision into a sustainable organization serving communities across Denver and beyond.
Because of this support, Lower the Barrier Colorado has been able to purchase equipment, expand mobile workforce training services, grow programming at the Workforce Training & Employment Center at the LOVE Center, and build the organizational sustainability needed to serve more people for years to come.
Since 2019, we have served more than 6,000 individuals through workforce training, employment services, entrepreneurship, social enterprise, and community-based programs. Behind every number is a person who earned a certification, found employment, gained confidence, or discovered a new pathway forward.
Community Grants mean more than funding. They represent trust, partnership, and a shared belief that every person deserves access to opportunity.
The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Thank you for helping us continue to grow, serve, and create opportunities for those who need them most.
To The Denver Foundation, EDCI, BRIC, our partners, supporters, employers, volunteers, and participants
THANK YOU
