🥗Shaved Brussels Sprouts Salad

I don’t know about you, but it has been so darn HOT lately! Too hot to roast any vegetables... so let's make salad instead! 😋

This salad is bright and hearty, and the perfect way to cool down after a hot summer day.

💪With 24 grams of protein, and 23 grams of polyunsaturated fatty acids this salad is sure to keep you full and satisfied!
·
🚨Ingredients:
3 cups shaved brussels sprouts
1 cup chopped kale
1 cup sliced green apples
½ cup parmesan cheese
½ cup sunflower seeds
½ cup chopped walnuts
The juice from 2 lemons (or 4 Tbsp)
1 Tbsp avocado oil
🚨Directions:
1️⃣Massage the shaved brussels sprouts and chopped kale with the lemon juice
2️⃣Let sit for 5 minutes
3️⃣Add remaining ingredients
4️⃣Toss well
✨Enjoy!

TGIF everyone! I love to lift heavy and be strong. Squats have a way of making you feel so strong and powerful, so let’s touch on some differences between a front squat and a back squat.

🏋️♂️Front squats have the weight loaded on the front of the body. This load puts the emphasis on the quadriceps muscles. As they engage throughout the movement, the core supports the spine, and the hips, knees, and ankles facilitate the movement!

🏋️♂️Back squats have the weight loaded on the back. This puts the emphasis on the hamstrings muscles more so than the quadriceps. Like the front squat, the core supports the spine, and the hips, knees, and ankles facilitate the movement!

🏋️♂️Both of these exercises utilize the quadriceps and hamstrings, but where you load the weight affects muscle recruitment.
