Iwi wants everyone to know activity restrictions doesn't mean you can't still practice training! Always check with your dog's doctor to see what if any safe exercises they CAN do while their activity is restricted for health reasons.

Post OP Iwi is not supposed to stretch her left forelimb forward, run, or play roughly to help the incision heal. But! She got the clear to practice monitored and controlled balance and body consciousness exercises.

Here she is on her stool practicing balance and body consciousness. These exercise helps with confidence as well as core strength, balance and body consciousness, or awareness.

Fun fact! Dog's don't naturally understand they have a rear end, so until you teach them they do, they can be quite clumsy. For a service dog like Iwi, these exercises are important to help them navigate tight spaces without leaving a trail of destruction and shed fur! It can help your dog to also know how they take up space!
