There are so many ways to model factoring a quadratic equation. “Slide and divide” and “Tic Tac Toe” require so much procedural memory that I have to look them up to remind myself of the steps. Using a simple area model (box) to factor is more intuitive and requires less language retrieval to remember a set of steps to achieve the same result.

This is critical to understanding the fraction division procedure!
