🍦Around Town: A Whole Lotta Happy, The Sweetest Thing on Two Wheels

In Hilltop, you don’t really schedule fun—it just sort of shows up.

And lately, more often than not, it’s because something sweet has been planned.

Not just any treat—artisan ice cream cookie sandwiches, served from an e-bike that somehow feels perfectly at home at a summer party.

That’s A Whole Lotta Happy —run by Hilltop resident Sally Davis, who, as it turns out, didn’t just start a business. She created a way to be part of the moments that make this neighborhood feel like home.

It began with something simple: time with her daughter, Sydney.

What started as something the two of them could build together—fun, flexible, and rooted in connection—quickly grew into something bigger. These days, Sydney (now 16) still jumps in for the big events, but like many teenagers, her summers are a little more spoken for.

A Whole Lotta Happy isn’t about randomly riding through the neighborhood—it shows up where it’s invited. School events, block parties, birthdays, graduations, weddings. If there’s a reason for people to come together, there’s a good chance Sally’s already on the calendar.

At the center of it all is Sally—handing out beautifully pre-assembled ice cream cookie sandwiches, each one made ahead of time with care. She typically brings five or six flavors to choose from (plus a gluten-free option), making the hardest part simply deciding which one to grab.

“What inspired me was creating something that brings genuine joy in a personal, connected way,” she says. “And something my daughter and I could share.”

Five seasons in, A Whole Lotta Happy has become less of a surprise and more of a staple—woven into the fabric of Hilltop summers.

Olivia Posthumus
A 2026 graduate of the North High School Transition Program, Olivia previously graduated from the Girls Athletic Leadership School in 2024. She has spent her entire life in Hilltop and attended Carson Elementary, GALS Middle School, and GALS High School along the way. Olivia plans to work at ARC Thrift Stores and is a proud self-advocate for the Global Down Syndrome Foundation. She stays active with dance classes at Colorado Ballet, Special Olympics swimming and tennis, and NSCD skiing at Winter Park. Olivia loves meeting neighbors (especially their dogs!) and going on tandem bike rides with her dad.

Ava Stout
A graduate of George Washington High School, Ava has been deeply involved in theater, acting in and directing plays while immersing herself in the GW theater community. She’s also passionate about public forum debate and competed in tournaments across the country with the GW debate team, the 2026 State Champions. Ava lives in Hilltop with her family and has loved being part of the community throughout high school.

Sophia Ritchie
A St. Mary’s Academy graduate, Sophia was deeply involved in Mock Trial, serving as captain, and dedicated countless hours to volunteerism and civic engagement through Youth Roots Grantmaking Program/Board, Project Helping Youth Advisory Board, and Make-A-Wish Colorado’s Youth Leadership Council. She was also a two-time recipient of her class’s Annual Volunteer Service Award. Sophia is headed to CU Boulder’s College of Arts and Sciences Honors Program to study Cinema Studies and Moving Image Arts. Her advice for future seniors: don’t stress. Sophia says she’ll miss taking walks through the neighborhood with her dad and their dog, Scout, most.

Outside the office, Miranda enjoys life with her husband, a Navy veteran, musician, and handyman. They love their two dogs, Mr. Brown, a senior chocolate lab, and Hash Brown, a Dachshund-Australian shepherd mix.

Miranda has a work ethic instilled at a young age, yet she takes time to unwind, while keeping clients first. Because at the end of the day, estate planning is about people. And making sure the ones you love are protected, no matter what comes next.

🇺🇸A Salute to Service~Hilltop’s Mailman Legend: Dan Trujillo

As we celebrate America’s 250th, we’re grateful for the postal carriers and other public service workers who serve the Hilltop community. A special thank you to Dan Trujillo for serving Hilltop for 42 years.

For 42 years, Dan Trujillo has been a constant presence in Hilltop—through snowstorms and sunshine, through decades of change, and across generations of families who have come to know him not just as their mail carrier, but as part of the neighborhood itself.

At 65, Dan is beginning to think about retirement—likely in the next year or so—but his legacy is already firmly rooted in the streets he’s walked for 34 years on the same route out of the Montclair station. In a neighborhood where families grow, move away, and often return, Dan has had a front-row seat to it all. “Kids go off to college and come back and say, ‘Wow, Dan—you’re still the mail carrier,’” he says. And he is—steady, familiar, and always moving.

So what makes Dan a Hilltop legend? It might start with the fact that he’s a proud 5’2” Native American Spaniard with a tenacity that’s carried him through one of the most physically demanding careers out there. Day after day, year after year, he’s shown up. While his seniority could have earned him a more comfortable indoor position long ago, Dan never considered it. The route—and the people on it—are what matter most.

“I absolutely love the interaction,” he says. “I really get to know them, and they get to know me.” Ask him what stands out most, and it’s not the miles or the weather—it’s the conversations. Residents light up when they talk about their kids, and just as often, they ask Dan about his next trip.

As he looks toward retirement, Dan is excited for what’s next: more travel, more time with family, and perhaps a few more trips to Disneyland. But for now, he’s still out there, delivering mail and brightening days—one house at a time.
