📢 The origins of Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) in China ☯ can be traced back at least 5000 years, making it one of the oldest and most long-standing health care systems in the world.
Chinese herbal medicine is a natural🌿 and holistic system of primary health care that is being used by people from a wide range of cultural and social backgrounds to effectively treat a variety of chronic and acute health problems.
There are more than 450 herbs commonly used in Chinese herbal medicine. Most of them are natural plants. Each herb has its own specific characteristics and particular medical use to treat various diseases and disorders 🤕 to help restore the body to its normal physiological functions.
The prescription of Chinese herbal medicine consists of anywhere between 6 to 18 herbs, which take into account the individual therapeutic action of each herb as well as the effects when combined together. A well constructed formula maximizes the effectiveness for treating a particular condition, while counteracting and minimizing the unwanted effects of an individual herb. Additionally, contraindications with Western pharmaceuticals are always taken into consideration when incorporating certain herbs into an patient's herbal formula.
There are different types of delivery methods for Chinese herbal formulas, i.e. granules (powder), raw herbs or pills. A number of patients are more comfortable with pills initially and then will become confident enough to try granulated or even raw herbs. There is a substantial difference in terms of strength as the processing of freeze-dried granules and pills reduces the efficacy considerably.

📣Acupuncture is a 🍃natural and effective🍃 way to restore the body to health. Stimulation of acupuncture points activates the body's own healing powers. It also triggers the release of chemicals called endorphins. These endorphins interact with the receptors in the brain that reduce the perception of pain. Endorphins also trigger a positive feeling in the body, similar to that of morphine.
Acupuncture is one of the most ancient systems of treatment known to mankind, and has been practiced in China and other Eastern countries for thousands of years. It is one part of a whole range of techniques & treatments known as Chinese medicine. Chinese medicine includes acupuncture, herbs, cupping🔥, moxibustion, gua sha, electro-acupuncture⚡️, auriculotherapy👂 and nutrition🍎.
The philosophy behind Chinese medicine is that vital energy or "Qi" ☯(pronounced "Chi") flows through energy lines or meridians in the body. When you are in good health, the flow of Qi is smooth and uninterrupted but, when illness strikes this flow is disturbed. Modern living can cause this energy to be disrupted in many ways including stress, emotional upset, physical trauma, poor diet, overworking, mental/emotional issues, too much or too little physical activity, etc.
Each person is different and the Chinese medicine approach is to treat the patient as an individual where the treatment is very much tailored to the patient's needs so that the body can re-balance and heal itself.
