Not feeling in the holiday spirit?

While this season can bring happiness and fun festivities, it can also bring:
stress
pressure
grief
overwhelm
triggers
sadness
exhaustion
insecurity
jealousy
anger / irritability

Remember it is okay to feel more than one emotion at once

We can feel happy while also grieving a loss

We can feel thankful to be with family and also feel triggered

We can feel overwhelmed & irritable while also feeling excited

I, personally, am experiencing all of the above pretty much all at the same time at any given moment

Feeling more than one emotion at the same time can be confusing (and annoying, in my opinion at least 🤣)

Boundaries are crucial this time of year, especially with family. They can be the most difficult to have and uphold boundaries with, but most important.

I've been reminding clients (any myself) to stay in observation, instead of participating in the chaos, if you are experiencing any.

And remember to check in with yourself. Name what you're feeling, where you're feeling it, and observe how the feeling arises, and passes by.

Stay in awareness. I know it's easier said than done, hopefully these reminders are helpful 😊

When life seems to be going wrong and bad things are happening that you can't explain or don't seem to make sense, does anyone else think to themselves "what did I do to deserve this?" 🙋🏻‍♀️

I've started really looking at this thought pattern and how much my mind goes there. When something bad happens, 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘥𝘰 𝘐 𝘪𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘐 𝘥𝘪𝘥 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦 𝘪𝘵?

The word "karma" comes to mind. The word that the spiritual community loves to shove down people's throats and has seemed to ingrain in us that if something "bad" is happening to us now then it is because we did something bad in the past to deserve it.

Or the whole "raise your vibration" statement which seems to again make it feel like if something bad happens then it somehow could be because our "vibes" weren't high enough.

Whatever that actually means.

Don't get me wrong I do believe vibration, frequencies, manifestation, mindset, etc. can all play a part in getting what we want out of life. I just don't necessarily believe that something bad happening is directly because of those things. So I've started shifting more in to 𝘱𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 enlightenment.

Not the b.s. false light new age enlightenment of eternal bliss, end of all suffering, anything bad that happens is karma, only see the positive in everything - type of enlightenment.

Practical enlightenment is... practical.

It's being 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 with knowing that 𝘯𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘰, there will be loss, failure, regret, death, and just some unfair s**t that happens that you don't deserve.

𝘗𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘦𝘯𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘻𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘰𝘬𝘢𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘬 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴.

Read that again.

It's OKAY for things to suck sometimes.

And it's okay to SAY that things suck right now, if they do.

If you can get more comfortable with the uncomfortable parts of life, you can handle them with more ease and grace
