Looked at this way, DBS rules across nearly 57% of the nation, the top 10 cable ops claim dominance in just 43% and the top two telcoTV operators have a miserly 0.34%.

This is the case if you're looking at which platform can claim the greatest household pe*******on within each individual ZIP code. The DBS predominance stems from its nationwide signal, and consequent ability to reach nearly all households within the continental US. The cable operators, by contrast, have focused their terrestrial based systems on key population pockets. As a result of that (plus, of course, a near 40 year head start), the top 10 cable ops dominate in ZIP codes accounting for ~76.5% of the nation's total households....
