What a meaningful event weekend!💙
On Saturday, Holiday Cheer for Seniors & Fair Oaks of Denton hosted a Volunteer Appreciation Event celebrating the incredible individuals who make a difference in our community every day.
A special thank you to Modern Woodmen of America for recognizing our Hometown Heroes, sponsoring refreshments, & providing a matching $1,000 donation for a silent auction.
Proceeds from the auction benefit Holiday Cheer for Seniors & Freedom Pantry , helping support seniors in our community.
We were honored to hear from Mayor Gerard Hudspeth, who spoke about the importance of volunteers & the value of our senior population.
Dr. James Duban, Associate Dean of Texas Academy of Mathematics & Science Honors College, shared insights on the impact of volunteerism & intergenerational programs. Gabrielle Beebe of Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial presented Community Hometown Hero awards, & Maria Jones of Denton Freedom House highlighted how Freedom Food Pantry provides vital food assistance to seniors.
It was a successful & inspiring event, & we are grateful to be part of a community that honors seniors, celebrates volunteers, & works together to make a lasting impact!

Tuesday’s Denton Freedom House Monthly Luncheon was such a blessing! ❤️
The testimonies shared were a beautiful reminder that God is gracious, faithful, & still changing hearts & lives every single day.
Seeing the transformation taking place in the lives of our residents never gets old, & we are so grateful to witness His work firsthand.
Our monthly luncheons are also an important opportunity for residents to develop & practice valuable life skills such as customer service, hospitality, teamwork, and communication as they prepare to re-enter the workforce after completing Phase One of the program.
Thank you to everyone who joined us & supported the mission of life change through recovery and faith.
